Art Resources local to the Santa Cruz Area
Here's some organizations offering art instruction, art shows, and the like. Santa Cruz Art League The Art League offers classes, hosts art shows, and supports the local visual arts. Cultural Council of Santa Cruz County The Cultural Council sponsors and encourages existing and new cultural and educational activities (such as the annual "Open Studios" event in October). Cabrillo College Offers classes to enrolled students and to the community at large. Santa Cruz Mountains Art Center Exhibits, art classes for adults and children, cultural events. The Museum of Art and History (MAH) Museum shows, children's art classes. Santa Cruz City Parks and Recreation Activities. Santa Cruz County Parks and Recreation Activities. Santa Cruz Adult School Non-profit education organization, associated with Santa Cruz City Schools, offering a variety of reasonably priced classes, including a number with an art focus. University of California Extension Variety of arts classes, "high powered", not for those on a tight budget. Kimberly Hardin Art Studio Founded in 1997, provides fine art instruction in on location, and sends teachers into the public schools as well. Currently has some 120 students enrolled.
